London South Bank University (LSBU) is a public University in Elephant and Castle, London (UK). It is based in London Borough of Southwark, near the South Bank of the River Thames, from which it takes its name. Founded in 1892 as the Borough Polytechnic Institute its achieved University status in 1992. It took them a century to achieve that university status.
The university was named the Entrepreneurial University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Award in November 2016 and In the inaugural 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework, London South Bank University was awarded a Silver rating.
In January 2014, David Andrew Phoenix, an English biochemist and chief executive of London South Banks University was appointed Vice-Chancellor.
LSBU has the following faculties;
School of Applied Sciences: LSBU has innovative courses and sophisticated laboratories to prepare students for the workplace. They are also home to the oldest bakery school in the world.
School of Arts and Creative Industries: past students have secured placements at the BBC, London Live, The Daily Telegraph and so on.
School of Business: has outstanding facilities and access to the software widely used in industry such as SAGE, FAME, SPSS and Nvivo. This faculty also has accreditation from professional bodies such as; The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and ACCA.
School of Engineering: this gives you the freedom to specialize in a variety of aspect of computer science, including computer engineering, big data and business intelligence, collaborative computing and devices and sensors. This faculty also received accreditation from The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
School of Law and Social Sciences: we offer professionally accredited courses put theory into practice with a wide range of dedicated space s and equipment to replicate the workplace, as well as work experience opportunity.
