International College of Hotel Management
ICHM acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As an education institution, ICHM place a lot of importance on continuing to build relationships with local elders and emerging leaders through traditional arts and crafts authentically.
We engaged local Aboriginal artist Gabrielle Stengle to help us with the site’s connection to Kaurna Country. Gabrielle has created an original ICHM artwork for inclusion and integration into the ‘Connection to Country’ level of the building.
“Wauwi” - Wauwi is the Kaurna name for the grey female kangaroo and is the Kaurna name given for Light Square. Wauwi perfectly represents ICHM as it is always moving forward and never backwards.
